  3. IT’S REALLY HELPFUL ……. BUT……. VERBS SHOULD BE GIVEN WITH ALL THE 4 FORMS.

    thank you once again.

  8. This will be a great help for me in terms of creating my story project. This is a GREAT COMPILATION OF JAM-PACKED ACTION WORDS. Thanks a bunch for this post.

For the anonymous person, I suggest you use an English dictionary to know the past form of that verb you’re looking for AND THE MEANING OF THE WORD AS WELL. The author of this blog post just gave out the base form of the action words [maybe base form] as a guide for those who don’t know the list of action words base on your own vocabulary pool.

  9. Sir, a wonderful list! Thank you! I’m a bit confused, however, as to why you have a number of adverbs (e.g. expertly, relentlessly, and uniformly) listed as action verbs. These are two very different things, are they not?

  10. Could you please tell me what is the diffrence between to+infinitive and state verb ?

    • I think you mean stative verb. In a nutshell the infinitive verbs are verbs that describe action. Stative verbs describe being. The way English and Spanish handle the infinitive is very different and the following site does a good job of explaining this difference:
      http://www.spanishdict.com/topics/show/29

I think the Wikipedia treatment of the stative verb topic is pretty good and better than anything I could come up with:
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stative_verb

Overall verb conjunctions are much more complex in Spanish than English! I learned Spanish as a kid so I don’t have to think about it but also teach Spanish and have to tell you its one tough subject and none native speakers generally make mistakes in their speech in this area even after tons and tons of drill and practice. The good news is that it has almost no impact on communication. The context of the conversation will let the listener know what type of verb you mean.

  11. What to do will be the major theme for nearly the following 40 weeks.

It is possible to lose weight by running without injuring yourself.
